A Special Four-Session Zoom Presentation

Wednesday, March 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st, 10:00 a.m.

Session 1 -  March 10th: The History of Waste/Recycling

(a short history over time, including historic photos and related legislation)

 

Session 2 - March 17th: The Recycling Process

(what happens to materials post-collection, with an emphasis on markets)

 

Session 3 March 24th: Materials We Recycle and Helpful Resources

(what we recycle in Portland and how to determine if it goes in the

compost, recycling or trash bins)

 

Session 4 - March 31st: Future Trends and How to Effect Change

(what we can expect and what we can do in terms of our own recycling

and effect change in companies and the government)

Each session will last 45 minutes to an hour.

North Star Village member Amy Wilson, who spent her professional career

in the Solid Waste and Recycling Department at Metro, has volunteered to present this four-part Zoom presentation open to members and volunteers from Villages NW villages.
