Clackamas County Master Gardeners Workshop
Did you know proper planting practices help plants establish faster and grow stronger? While planting may seem intuitive, the size and shape of the hole in the ground and whether we prepare the plant’s roots make a difference for your tree, shrub, and perennial.
This class will share good practices based on horticultural research. It begins with tips on how to work with clay soil, followed by step-by-step demonstrations of how to prepare your site and your plant. Post-planting care such as mulching, staking, watering, fertilizing, and pruning will conclude the class.
Our speaker Sherry Sheng is an Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener who teaches for the award-winning 10-Minute University™ Program. She gardens at home, at a community garden, and manages a pollinator garden at a State Par
