As we age, an active lifestyle combined with regular exercise leads to better brain function and overall wellness. Join AARP New Oregon and Barbara Deurwaarder for an hour-long chair yoga virtual class every Wednesday at 10 am.

If you want to gently and gradually increase flexibility or introduce greater mobility in your daily life this is a great place to start. These sessions are designed for people of varied abilities and is mostly performed using a chair. Some standing is incorporated with modifications if necessary. Mindfulness and breathing are integral to the practice.

It is helpful to have a folding chair or a chair without arms for this session. If you have a 4“ x 6“ x 9“ inch yoga block, do keep it handy or a rolled bath towel will also do.

The class is delivered virtually via the Zoom platform and is free for AARP members and guests. AARP membership not required.

Each participant must complete this pre-registration and waiver prior to joining the yoga sessions. Upon registration, you will be sent the link for the weekly class.

If you would like to invite a guest to this event, they will need to register themselves directly to agree to the liability waiver.

Adaptive Yoga sessions will be held at 10 am on the following Wednesdays: April 7 - April 28th.

Please consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
