57.4 metric tons of electronic waste were generated in 2021 (12,6545.3 pounds), and it’s estimated that the total is growing by 2 metric tons a year. It is also estimated that there is in excess of 347 metric tons of unrecycled waste so far this year. Please do not add to this mess – eCycle with Rivers East Village!
Members and Volunteers of Rivers East Village, this is your opportunity to 1) shed your broken or unused electronics, 2) support the Kraxberger Gearheads, and 3) help our planet.
The robotic club of Kraxberger Middle School, the Kraxberger Gearheads, strip down and recycle 95% of the product that comes in. All product donations are sorted and shipped to either RS Davis Recycling or Universal Recycling Technology. All profits from e-recycling are used to fund the Kraxberger Robotics Club.
The Gearheads accept old electronics, but also old appliances, many household items, and metal. REV volunteers will be collecting the items for delivery to Kraxberger Middle School. Please do not include heavy appliances such as a freezer. If you are donating an old computer, rest assured that the information on the hard drive will be destroyed.
